Dig your pop's Barracuda, my grandmother had one...she liked cars that moved. ;)

Looks great!
Tell your Dad you love him while he is still with you. Too late  to do it after he is gone.

Enjoy the bike.
she is gorgeous...

  • Slowest bike build in history.
G'day mate, I just found this thread and had to tell you what an awesome job you've done. I've really enjoyed the build and hope I too can build something of this standard with my 75 400/4.
Keep ripping it up on th bmx too, good stuff mate.
Take it easy, JP.

  • Big ideas....
After a carb sync, tuning and tuning I finally settled at 105 mains, 42 slows, needle clip down one notch from stock, fuel screws 1.5 out; 110's were pitch black with soot. There are only 50 miles on these plugs and all four essentially look identical now. I'm not getting any lean symptoms but was hoping they'd show a bit more brown. What do you guys think?

Also went for a little rip for some brews with my pop on Fathers Day. Fun stuff.

I have found ethanol fuel to burn weird in regard to deposits. I am using VP non ethanol 94 octane small engine fuel in my CB. It smells like the old Testor's model glue and leaves very little in the way of deposits.

It smells like the old Testor's model glue...
Ahhh, the confessions of an Old a Time glue sniffer! Look at him now after all the hours wiling away upstairs with the black light on, jamming to Jeff Beck and snorting up the Testors. You rock, Mike!

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

I have some screen cleaner here for you. Drop by and borrow it anytime.

We are thankful that Mike didn't waste those creative brain cells that stimulates his creative and engineering marvels coming out of his lair.

Alternatively, maybe he wasn't a glue sniffer to intentionally get a buzz but he sas an avid plastic modeler who built frequently and never connected the euphoria of that experience until later in life...the need to build being driven by the pleasure center of the brain.

I built a few U controlled airplains in my day as well as RC and the Sigment and butryte and nitrate dope were pretty heady if you did it in a small room. You knew you had a little bit to much exposure when you  would be dizzy getting up and immediately recognized the fresh air was so much cleaner and it intensified the brain's hit from the covering session with the dope. Mom would make me cover a plane in the garage or outside.
