Well, it's been another productive evening.
1) I stripped the paint off the triple clamp and tried to leave it as untouched as possible. I like the look of the original casting. Imperfectly perfect. I also got new OEM hardware for the clamp.
2) I took apart the wiring harness and cleaned all the wires and connectors. They were pretty grimy; now I can see what I'm doing. I really like that most of the harness is still factory with OG connectors. NO CUT AND SPLICE GARBAGE.
3) I found a yellow wire on the rectifier that was hanging on by a thread.
Could this be the cause of my electrical woe? All fuses were fine. I will solder the connection and hook everything back; hopefully it fires up. If not I will have start from square one.
4) Not pictured was the battery box I bead blasted. I will smooth and paint that this weekend.
