Can a guru confirm that the valve springs inner/outer the tighter ends are closer to the valve face, not the camshaft end ??

I'm not a guru, but according to my CB750F2 manual the narrow pitch end faces the cylinder head.

closed coil to the non moving side (cyl head) it compresses and becomes 'solid' so would increase he weight of retainer and probably cause valve/piston damage at higher rpm due to increased inertia ( valve float happens sooner)
