Made the missus happy
« on: January 25, 2015, 08:20:57 AM »
We have this fancy vessel in the little bathroom together with a fancy faucet.  Long story short, the vertical stem of the faucet broke, it was cheaply made.  I searched high and low and there was no replacement available - so I spent $20 on ebay and got 1" brass rod, made two pieces on the lathe and soldered 3/4" copper pipe in between.  20 minutes on the buffer and the whole thing is bling bling.  :)

The whole straight piece is retrofit.  Any factory would go broke doing it my way, but the little woman is happy and that's what counts.

Good job, but it would take a damn sight more than that to put a smile on my missus' face. :(

We had a friend from Napoli, Italy who did tiles for living, he was really good.
