Glad to see that people are interested in Jurassic era CB750 lore....a motorcycle that Honda used to set new attitudes, for good and bad. Good, in that they put the first successful modern OHC 4 engine motorcycle into the mix, and at an affordable price. Good, in that they spawned a whole industry that catered to the touring, racing, custom genres that still exist today, as do many of the original manufacturers.
Bad in that Honda allowed seemingly easy to wrangle faults to continue through multiple years of motorcycles, like early CB's being notorious for having dead batteries due to the charging system being set as if we were always on an Interstate, or not doing the now-familiar cooperation with a tire manufacturer to provide a decent performance tire as OEM....and selling a motorcycle with a seriously lacking chain for years while trying to lube it with engine oil......
But I still have a lot of the early days accessories for the CB and I intend to rebuild my pre-K1 with all of them on board....Bowman oil pan, Vetter Phantom fairing, Karl Heinrich 6.5 gallon tank (yes, really..one of two imported to the US), Teflon plastic rear sprocket, Craven panniers and rear rack, Kimtab wheels, Marzocchi 38mm forks with twin discs and Checkered Flag Customs magnesium mount, oil pressure gauge, on-board carburetor balancing and a bunch more stuff along with (hopefully) a Mark McGrew 836cc touring torque motor.
Like they used to say, watch this space, and enjoy the IFOA stuff. If I get a a chance I'll scan my back patch size IFOA patch..
