turntable advice
« on: January 26, 2015, 12:40:08 PM »
started collecting vinyl again.   I was given a cheapo USB turntable but am looking to upgrade.

My receiver, which is a very nice one, does not have a pre-amp for a turntable. (was made in 2008 or so - before vinyl starting getting hot again)  So, I'll need a turntable with a pre-amp built in or I'll have to get a separate one.

I'm not wanting to break the bank, but I also subscribe to the 'ol adage "you get what you pay for"

Would take new or vintage.   Any advice is greatly appreciated.  What should I look for.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

tons of nice old recievers and turntables for under $100 a piece...REALLY nice vintage stuff will of course be proportionately more
If it works good, it looks good...

Pick up older receiver or amp with turntable pre-amp if you got room in your sound system space.
Hook up the record jacks out to your newer systems aux input jacks.
They use to sell just turntable pre-amp, ( not the best, they seem to always hum) I sure you fine them on e-bay.
