Hey guys,

I have this bike and I'm curious what the rims are worth approximately?
Thanks!

Wow, cool...I have not heard of or seen those anywhere.  Based on the value of Lester's and their ilk, you may be able to get some pretty good coin.  Then again, they are not quite as good looking as some of the other aftermarket mags, so maybe no one will want to pay much.  If I had a 400, I would definitely be pming you.
If it works good, it looks good...

Looking at the condition of the ones on the pictured bike, I would guess about $200 or more for the pair.

Is there anything more fun than riding? They are between your legs and are quiet when you turn them off.

Value is hard.  Yes they are rare, but so is the person that wants them.
I would say $500-1500.  Wide range I know.  Will take a long time and a lot of work to find someone that really wants them and will pay top dollar.  Some are not willing to wait that long.
Best bet is a good listing with good pictures on eBay.

Lesters seem to go for about a grand.  But more people are playing with 750s then 400s.

Really in the end you have to set a number that you are okay with in your head and then get that.  Dont fear what they "could" be worth.

A set of Melba wheels [Front: 19" and Rear: 18"; made in Italy] (identical to your 'Melbers') was fitted to my Seeley Honda CB750F when I bought it. Everyone here I spoke to warned me that they're prone to cracking. I dismissed that warning as a myth... until the front rim cracked all it's spokes right through.

This happened on a Monday morning commute after a fairly hard 1000 mile weekend. What saved my ass is that the commute was through heavy traffic and in the wet so I never got my speed up to anything over about 60 km/h. And because it was wet my braking was quite gentle. and the roughness of the fractures kept things more or less in place.
The front end just felt very unstable and would shimmy whenever I used the front brake - almost like a slow puncture.

I still have that rim; it's hanging from a nail outside my workshop as a reminder that someone out there must love me!
Needless to say I would not recommend these rims to anyone.

Well thank you guys.

These rims are mint.  They actually look brand new.  No corrosion etc on them.

They're not my taste and I'll see about getting rid of them.

WOW!!!! Every spoke was cracked??? God loves you! Keep them hanging on the "wall of shame" where they belong.  ;)

Hi,

I picked up a set of wheels like that, but they're just a little different then the ones displayed, anyone can identify the wheels ? These are for a CB400F.

Do the cb400f rotors use a 4 hole pattern? Only thing I know that uses that pattern is the early kawasaki z and h series bikes.

Trey, if they're 18 inchers front & rear, would you weigh them for me? Even if the front is 19".
