seems to be a decent video on cb750 fork seal replacement
« on: January 27, 2015, 01:44:05 PM »

not sure if youtube videos are allowed to be posted but this seems like one of the few, if the only video, on fork seal replacement for the CB750.  might be the same for the others models but not sure.

There are more descriptions.

About the seal itself. I could not get a new pair of 11mm sloppy seals to seal. It leaked a lot direct with new fork tubes from Cycle X.
First 11mm seals from Cycle X, then Honda marked from Germany that looked the same. Finally the better ones as I have used before and should be used according to Honda Service Bulletine. see attachment
I ordered a much better from David Silver, same model as Honda describe as the newer seal replacing the old 11mm in a bulletine.

Once I saw it, I got a recall that this was the seal I used 1979 and 1983. Very rigid. I heated the lower fork tube with a heatgun, oiled the entire seal with fork oil and hammered it down with help of socket with almost same outer dimension as the seal.

I do not know why most of the part dealers use the old and for my bike crappy leaking seal.

My bike is CB750 K6 -76

Looks like a good video for the DOHC CB750.  I have the exact 1981 model and it needs the seals replaced so this should be a good guide.  The only thing I would comment is that they didn't use fork oil  ??? and their measurement of quantity added didn't seem too precise  :-X.  I would also have disassembled the dust seal (off the tube) to clean the dirt and oil out of it that seemed to still be present after the new seal was installed.
