I think I may be all set with CR Magazine and TV?
« on: January 31, 2015, 05:29:49 AM »
After buying the most recent copy of the magazine at the news stand I started by looking at what was trending up and down (in their opinion) and see that they had the CB750 as trending down.  Then I flip to the Reader's Rides section and see that all four of the bikes are CB750s.  A little over a year ago they did a cover piece on the 750.... with the bait for me being "tuning or performance tips"... get to the article and there wasn't any detail related to tuning or performance tips... the magazine has a bubble gum quality to it and would benefit from a better editorial effort to connect the dots.

My frustration grew when I was watching the show this morning, all was going well until the end when a certain disgraced athlete made a cameo appearance.  Really?

Naturally all of this is qualified with "in my humble opinion"... and, "for what it is worth."

I did enjoy the recent write-ups on the two of the 750's that I have followed on this forum... good coverage!

Agreed, they seem to run more commercials (reverse mortgage, voice recognition software, etc... ) than content.
While the cameo was a turn-off, the 750 that was being piloted was pretty a SHARP.  Dustin Kott built one nice 750! They pretty much skipped all the detail on the build... which would have been interesting to see.  They jumped from a pile of junkyard parts to a nearly finished build.

It's a magazine that panders to folks who care more about style than substance. It's basically a hipster lifestyle rag that caters to people who like to play motorcycle dress up and go to the rockabilly event where everyone else is playing dress up, too. The TV show is there to support the magazine brand.

If you want a good motorcycle magazine, get anything from Morton's Publishing e.g. Classic Racer.

Those guys are a bunch of clowns.  Should look into all the glowing things MikeS had to say about Hondas when he was riding the chopper wave.
I can't even count how many wheels have fallen off or bikes that failed to run out of them.
Complete jokes.

What they should be report as trending down is their TV show.
I predict this to be their last season.
