cb550 crank seal -right side..

I recently restored and sold a 77 cb750f, and am nearly finished with a (former basket case) cb750k5.  This is a place to share, learn and enjoy.  I am grateful to and for 99+% of this site's membership.

There's a locating lip on the seal. The cases have to be split, sorry.

Oh. Great.... And this is the point where I say, "...what leak?" (a la Eyegore in Young Frankenstein re: hump).

Yeah, both seals on either side have lips. Bummer. If you do split the cases to replace the seals, I'd recommend genuine Honda seals. Some aftermarket seals don't have that lip and also sometimes aren't exactly the proper size. Maybe 14mm instead of 13.9mm. I got a kit off Ebay and then bought genuine ones from David Silver because I didn't want to risk it. Zero leaks so far.
