I used it to slick back my hair, but I haven't noticed any more women
being attracted to me.
Better go back to the Brillcream I guess. ;D

You're showing your age with that comment! I remember as a kid in the early '60s that the 'treat' at the end of a haircut was getting Brillcream....just like the grown-ups used.

I can testify to the spraying on the distributor to help the car start. I used to carry a can in my Mini because it didn't like wet weather. If it started playing up in the rain i just used to spray the electrics with WD40 and it ran fine again!! Brilliant stuff! 8)

We used to buy WD-40 in 5 gallon containers. When you buy in quanities you have to disclose to the EPA what the stuff is and how you to dispose of it. Hate to tell u guys, but it is mostly Kerosene, and some light mineral oil. Here is the disclosure sheet.

Drain your oil and refill with WD-40. Let it idle for about 15 minutes, and then go about your normal oil changing routine. It'll really pick up the sludge and clean your engine out. I've heard of a lot of peple using straight kerosene for the same effect...

Does WD40 or kerosene adequately lubricate the internals during this process?

What about the pockets of WD40 or kerosene (like under the cam lobes in the cylinder head) that would be left after draining....is the volume left in the motor insignificant compared to the volume of oil that it would be mixed with, or should the oil be changed after a short period of time to flush out those remaining vestiges?

My Grandfather would do that back in the 1920-30s. To RUN a modern engine on that stuff would really cause engine damage.

Anybody drive a vehicle with halogen headlights?  Got the plastic lenses that are all yellowed and opaque?(most commonly 90's Dodges and Fords)  A little WD-40 will fix it right up!  Unfortunately, it doesn't last very long.  I am thinking about trying good old petroleum jelly next time.

Isn't it interesting how threads on this forum inevitably end up as smut.  ;D  Except when we're slagging each other off, that is.

Just the plastic lenses of halogen style headlights that have gone opaque due to oxidation.  The oils in WD-40 soak into the plastic making it clearer.  I assume Vasoline might do the same, but last longer
