Vasoline on your headlights?

thats a new one by me

RKS

Just the plastic lenses of halogen style headlights that have gone opaque due to oxidation.  The oils in WD-40 soak into the plastic making it clearer.  I assume Vasoline might do the same, but last longer

To get away from Chest Balloons for a minute. There are polishes for plastics that may help clear your lenses it would last longer than WD.

The old WD-40 worked really nice on exhaust burns on your arm. I used to work pit at an oil change place. Burn your arm on a car that was problably driven from California to Vegas non stop for thier oil change.  :o :o I would spray on some WD-40 and the burn failed to blister and turned into a neat brown spot and flaked off within two days. Also did I mention no pain  ;D I do know the parts cleaner we used to use would do the same thing.  ;)

I did my duty at Terribles Lube as a pit guy then worked my way into upper level managment until my ex-wife convinced me to move to Texas for no job, no money, and no contacts.  ??? Not sure how that worked. Funny back in the day they had only 12 locations.  ;)

WD 40 is an excellent tar remover and works especially well on the undersides of fenders. I've seen guys use it safely on
the rocker panels of cars as well. Spray it on, let it work a while and rinse or wipe off.

Did you hear that there is a new franchise of restaurant/bar about to be launched, along the same lines as Hooters, but for women? It's going to be called 'Nutters'.

Man, we're off topic on this thread!

Drain your oil and refill with WD-40. Let it idle for about 15 minutes, and then go about your normal oil changing routine. It'll really pick up the sludge and clean your engine out. I've heard of a lot of peple using straight kerosene for the same effect...

Does WD40 or kerosene adequately lubricate the internals during this process?

What about the pockets of WD40 or kerosene (like under the cam lobes in the cylinder head) that would be left after draining....is the volume left in the motor insignificant compared to the volume of oil that it would be mixed with, or should the oil be changed after a short period of time to flush out those remaining vestiges?

Anyone?

I'd be more than a little reluctant. WD-40 has the consistancy of water and lube cability only slightly better. I'd be very concerned personally. Just my $0.02 worth though.

Ditto.  I might do that with an old lawnmower engine, but not my bike!
