Oil Pressure Gauge - Handle Bar Mounted CB750
« on: January 30, 2015, 02:04:30 PM »
Has anyone rigged up a oil pressure gauge on the handle bars? Where did the feed come from and how do you ensure the line isn't full or air? Or does that not matter? OR can it be done electronically?

I don't want to put an ugly guage on the side of my shiney new engine. It's a '76 CB750F. Cheers, C.

For years and years I had one peeking through the hole in the unicorn style triple tree. FEd by a hose from the nub where the idiot light went, You could retain the light with a Y connector.  You could make a bracket to hang it anywhere off the Hbars you want.

Bleeding not a problem. Did it on its own.

Now I have an uglyone on the side.   :D

My K0 had one between the gauges mounted to the top handlebar bolts on an aluminum plate. functional and easy to see. Harder to do on a later model or an F.

Drag specialties sells a small diamater cup mount,  gauge and a clamp that fits over the handlebars. Old school appearance, my drag bike has a small tach mounted like that.

I guess that a gauge covering up to 80 PSI will be enough, right?
I might need one too!

For me its not an option with a gauge under the carbs, not visible on engine. I need it visible when driving.
Oil temp, exhaust temp and oil pressure would be nice to see while driving.
