Swapping adjustable carbs for emission control carbs
« on: October 10, 2006, 10:06:11 AM »
on my '78 550K. I got a set of 75(?) carbs 100 main 38 primary jets from a friend. Cleaned out the innards and cleaning up the outards. Anything I should be aware of? Bore is the same as the stock carbs, big advantage is these are adjustable. Originals are probably leaking air through/by he felt whatchacallits ... seals ... among other things. Any suggestions for jetting?

Should be a straight swap.  Jetting depends on your altitude and such, but factory settings should be fine and as I recall the 550s had 38/100s factory.
