Newbie - 73' CB750
« on: February 11, 2015, 06:52:09 PM »
Hello all,

Somewhat of a Newbie here...been lurking for a while...

At age 19 I decided it was time for a bike....since my parents were very conservative and I was never encouraged to seek out my bike desires....I bought a 71' CB350....well that didn't last long because it simply wasn't fast enough for my mature wisdom at age 19....So, I found a 73' CB750 in the Orange color....Absolutely loved that bike...!!....until the day I dumped it...yes, being an idiot....and with 3 small children at the time...I gave up bikes for over 20 years....

About 10 years ago I started going through my mid-life crisis...not really a crisis...I just had a need for 2-wheeled speed....again...no kids at home, got rid of the wife and had $$ again...:)
Over the past 10 years I've  bought and sold many bikes...now settling down to 6 or 7 depending on what day it is...

I always craved to have that CB750 again so have been scouring the Craigslist, Ebay and any other selling format I could find.....Sure enough, persistence paid off.....
I found a great example of the original CB750 I had when I was 20....I'm all smiles.....

Now the restoration work begins..although the bike is not in bad shape...I want it perfect...and so the work begins...

Wow, nice, that thing looks great.  It seems to have peed on your floor though  ;)

What do you have planned for restoration work?

Thanks for the info....Who is JT...?

Most of the stuff I can do myself except the powder coating and I had seen a thread from Powderman and found his web site...
The bike only has 12k miles so the sprockets may be in decent shape...but I'll check for wear...and new ones are pretty cheap $...

..
Same guy I mentioned earlier, jtmarks77. He's a distributor for yamiya, so you'll save some money ordering through him instead directly from them.
