+4 for blue. Is that the factory flake sapphire blue? I'm extremely partial to that colour, a little biased but whatever.

Yeah, strip the black and go back to Candy Sapphire Blue.  It's an awesome color.

+1 blue.

I'll paypal you $5 to clean the lens on your camera  ::)

I also like the blue, and may just stick with that.  I have tried cleaning the lens on my cell phone camera several times, but it does not good.  I don't know what happened to it.

OK, I removed the black and went back to blue.  No harm done.  At least the washable paint is a way to get a look at how a paint scheme will look without committing to it.

I messed around with a lowered front end today by using a ratchet strap to pull the front end down about 2".  I like the look, so I ordered a set of clip on handles that I will attach to the fork tubes on top of the tree, and give the lowering without cutting the springs and using spacers.  I have tried to just do simple things to this bike without cutting any metal or wiring.

Latest progress:  I installed a set of clip on handles and lowered the bike 2" in the front by pulling the forks up the tree and then installing the handles to them.  I like this look.  I removed the key switch and installed a toggle switch.  I also pulled the headlight in about an inch or so.  So far no wires or metal has been cut on the bike.

Nice.  Clip-ons with some comfort.

Do you have dust-covers for the forks?

Just make sure the wiring to the toggle is ample enough to handle the current coming to it.  ;)

I prefer to think of the picture effect more like the old perfume commercials with Elizabeth Taylor, if you remember those.  Slight blurriness works wonders for imperfections.  I have no idea what is wrong with my phone camera.  Maybe I will have to get it looked at.

Looking good Randy. You may try to recondition the spikes on the rear wheel with some steel wool. Also, you may need a new chain - looks a little rusty in the picture.

Time for a little update.  I removed the head and replaced the head gasket and associated o-rings with a gasket kit from Versah.  I also replaced the pucks and shifter seal.  I finally have ZERO oil leaks.  I have had the carbs off a few times to clean out form-a-gasket used by the previous owner, so now the bike runs great.

Yesterday, I pulled the forks again and painted the lowers black and installed new fork gaiters.  I also installed a new chain and sprockets.  I still have not cut any wires or metal on the bike.

Nice.  How does she ride?

It rides good, although admittedly I very rarely ride it.  I got it mostly to have something to tinker with.  It still has all the stock suspension.
