Topic: K0 wouldn't fire, first start

 So it cranks like a champ, has spark, stored with no alcohol gas and stabil 360*, the tank and bowls were full. ( I know don't do that)

 When I drained the float bowls, the gas in them looked like pepsi. the bowls are clean inside. Then I ran some from the tank out through the carbs and it is clear. Nothing in the sediment bowl and the tank looks new inside. Then I turned the fuel back on, it fired right up and ran well.
 I'm wondering if something in the gas was making plastic float tea? I also have 2 small inline filters they appear to be clean. The floats look OK. Next year I drain the carbs for sure. 
 Anyone else seen this?

Yes I have.  Not sure what causes it, but it might be that the smaller amount of fuel in the bowls compared to the tank gets "tea like" quicker.  If you live in a warmer climate this effect happens much quicker I'd imagine as heat is a catalyst.

 It was in the shop all winter, under a cover. Temp hovered between 40 and 65 depending if we were working.

That is strange Don. I pretty much do the same thing with my KO's. Fill tank with no ethanol fuel and use Stabil. However, I do not drain the carbs for my heated (55 degree) winter storage. I routinely shut the petcock off about a mile from the house and run the bowls down on all the bikes. Never had a starting or running issue in the spring. Any chance you got some water in the fuel?
