Center Stand
« on: February 13, 2015, 09:38:39 AM »
First of I would like to say that this forum is awesome I've been a member for a year or so but this is my first post. I have a 1974 cb750 and I'm trying to by a center-stand on e-bay. I need to know what years would match and fit my bike or if there's a resource to be able to figure this out.  Thanks.

In my opinion, they will all fit up the same. There is some difference in the bracing and toe arm. So I'd go for a later than K2 to get the stronger one. Check part numbers for a change.

Just check parts numbers and compare on a site like www.cmsnl.com/

You'll get a quick answer. But I do believe they changed p/n somewhere around 74-76

K3 through K6 should all fit your bike.

Why not post in the "wanted" section of the board here. Someone must have one in their stash...good luck with the bike.

I bot a spare which I had shortened for my lowered frame, from eBay for about $20 I think.

Thanks to everybody for the advice. It's greatly appreciated. I'm buying a center stand for my cafe racer for two reasons. One, is a bought a lift that grabs my bike from the front of the frame and falls on the center stand mounts(figuring installing a center stand when I lift it would make that point of contact much stronger). The other is for long distant rides so I could have a "jack" in-case I need to change a tube etc. I'm basically just using it on the lift or in "emergency" conditions. Probably should have stated this earlier.  Thanks again for all the great advice

I had one for a long time i just used in the shop, one day I noticed there was one in the parts bin that was narrowed. I tried it on that bike and when I shimmed it to the right a little it fit like a dream even with the 4/2 header. It lives there full time now.
