I am actually working on that now.  I thought perhaps going South to north into Sante Fe then East remaining in western Texas then north to Oklahoma then back west to the grand canyon in AZ.  Was simply thinking of just touching the boundary so I can put a sticker on Dash saying I was in Texas and Oklahoma  ;)  What ideas do you have?

Besides the area west of Big Bend, my favorite riding in Texas is around Alpine and Fort Davis.

Mooshie brings up a question which I would like to ask: how does it work as far as states/countries to visit goes? Does the relay simply touch as many as possible or are there specific objectives or other prefix goals?

YES! GZ v1.0 we attempted to (and succeeded) to hit all lower 48 states and DC plus the lower 7 Canadian provinces. The other countries saw how much fun we were having and couldn't resist.

It's as much as you make it  ;) Shoot for the moon.

Well, Jerry... I'm Italian, from Naples, where the Italian branch of ESA (European Space Agency) has its HQ. I asked a few friends who looked into it. ESA is very happy and willing to send GZ to the moon and back but they are experiencing difficulties with the launch system setup: the relay is definitely only open to SOHCs and this layout is not suitable for their first and second stage motors. They asked if they can employ triple or quadruple OHC rocket arrangements but I firmly refused to violate the relay's corner stone characteristic! Things look a bit better for the boosters as the 70's saw some pretty awesome SOHCs with turbo boosters attached. I was browsing CL some time ago and I remember seeing one or two of NASA's vintage shuttles up for grabs... can anyone confirm? We could attach classic bates or shoei saddlebags and a sissy bar w/ backrest so that GZ could handle the take off Gs & acceleration more comfortably. After all he will be riding legs astride...

Rockets are good!  :D  It's just SOHC Hondas that are the required motorcycles for GZ. Maybe even one of the new Honda jets would be good also. Add a little credibility to that program!

OK... well, who's living the closest to Cape Canaveral? I think that who's in charge of that section of the relay could bring GZ over there to have a photo with the launch pad in the background... unless we can arrange for someone in Italy to join the relay...

Hadn't thought about rockets... Cape Canaveral definitely has some good photo ops. I'm less than an hour from there, and my work occasionally puts me on the base!

Elton John wrote a song about you didn't he?? Think you could snap a pic of GZ riding off on a rocket along the lines of the Slim Pickens scene? Their scheduling leaves a lot to be desired........

I'm in for the Tour this year. Last year I picked PZ up from GA. and took him across South Carolina to North Carolina, stopping in Myrtle Beach for some Sun and Fun!

One of the years I took him into West Virginia just for 10 miles, nothing special but he bagged another state.
