Got to ask Ter?y...............What is your wifes hobby?
« on: June 27, 2006, 08:04:19 PM »
I just  finished reading another thread where our Ausy friend  TE?RY  bragged about all the real  cool crap he bought on Ebay recently.
"don't come back with (it wasn't crap)" You know what I mean. "The bike will be awesome"

For everyone reading this...........
How does your bikes financial wants, needs and desires  interfere with the other 1/2's  ideas of spending money. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :-\

P.S.  edited on 3rd reading..

My other half is a tech at the local Harley dealership. She's in the middle of the titling process of the bike she built from the ground up. Everything.

She's pretty understanding of my motorcycle spending.

Most of what my wife buys is for re-sale. Friends say our house is like a museum.  She gets the basement and I get the garage.  For the most part she is completely bored with motorcycles, but I have to pretend to be interesred while she tells her stories of what she went throught to find something and who she talked to etc.

My wife's pretty understanding. She knows I'd wanted a bike since I was a kid. I think it helps that it's a $1K older bike rather than a $9K new one. She does keep me informed of the running tally though.  ::) ;D I can't convince her that the jacket, oil, grease cleaner, etc. shouldn't be included in the cost of the bike. I just count the bike plus parts that are permanently attached.   ;)

I asked my wife the other day what she thinks our biggest "expense" was?  I was going to tell her that it was taxes... Guess what her reply was - "your motorcycle??".

Ha Ha! - We both got a pretty good laugh!  She's pretty understanding though... It should be on the road by July 14th (my self-imposed deadline - 32nd Birthday)

The idea is growing on my wife and asked about getting one for herself - 1 stipulation - it has to be an automatic.  Can you say CB400A?

Anyone have a line on one?  You gotta strike while the iron is hot so to speak!  I'd love to get another!

My wife refers to my motorcycle stuff as "JUNK" and talks about how the place is
cluttered up with the "JUNK". Now that I'm working to get my "JUNK" 750 ready to install
the sidecar so I can use it to transport James (the "Special Needs" young man that I work
with), she's back off of the "JUNK" classification somewhat and is kinda working with me
on that one at least. Maybe that enthusiasm will spread to the others but, I doubt it. Oh
well, I'll take what I can get in that respect. She just doesn't appreciate that I was raised
around motorcycles and that they are a big part of my life. Later on, Bill

My Wife agrees half the overtime money is mine. Some weeks that can be $200. Plus it's cheaper "than that
damn car" (73 Newyorker) I just sold it. Now I have an 85 Jetta diesel for lugging me back & forth & my bike for fun. ;D

After the first 50 bikes she stopped complaining, esp after I built a wall on the hill to hide them all.

NOW she wants me to move the other 15 so the neighbors can't see them :o

peace,
