I ran across this bike and love the tires! Anyone know who makes them?

lol...actually they are Avon Safety Mileage... only meant to be used for rear, I believe. Use Avon Speedmaster for front on a bike that will actually get ridden...actually they are made from nice grippy rubber, only the tire's squareish profile leaves performance on the table.

Hmmmm, so you hate your motorcycle and you don't like going round corners...

I can understand people buying a bike based on looks {sometimes} but buying tires based on looks defies logic....

If I recall, there's a distinct difference between opinion and advice! Opinion= this is what I think. Advice= this is what I think you should do. My opinion on the tires....follow the golden rule....your gold, your rules. If you like them for whatever reason, then you will most likely not be happy with any substitute until you form your own opinion on their suitability.

According to people who know, you won't have full use of your brakes or your motorcycles capabilities, especially in the wet, it will track like a #$%* on your grooved highways, Why make your ride less safe..? According to respected tire manufacturers, NONE build tires with 50/60/70 year old technology or tread patterns, for very good reason, just look at GOOD tires in the same sizes, and according to people who know, proper tires and suspension are made to save your life by giving you as much control as physically possible over your machine, something these tires could never do. Surprisingly enough we still see obits from guys that rode on these back in the day..
So they managed to live thru it.

BTW about a week ago there was an obit from a guy in the next town.. Said he lived his bikes and learned from a master named Bert Munro!
Now I am Really Curious as to what he rode, and what he had left, or pics, etc..

I'm not set on the Firestone Deluxe Champion tires...I'm actually leaning towards the Avon Safety Mileage MKII's using the rear tire for both front and rear.

Just in case anyone was worried, I decided to get two of the Avon Safety Mikeage MkII (4.00 x 18) for both front and rear. I know the Speedmasters are the front tire but they won't fit my setup. Any issues using that tire for both front and back?

yeah, it's gonna handle like #$%*...no seriously, I can't remember if those are directional or not, if they are, they will have an arrow on the sidewall indicating the rotation that is intended, but I think you will be better off putting the arrow going the wrong way on the front...more chance of the tire holding together at highway speeds for longer.
