Final touches included stainless brake lines from HEL and a properly bled system. Front brake can now perform as well as the motor!
Dude, I have an easy fix for the unsightly surface rust on the fork tubes.
Go to the auto-parts store and get a roll of the chrome tape they use for the bottom of pickup trucks (runs about 6 bucks).
Slide the headlight ears all the way to the bottom, wrap the top part of each tube.
Then slide them to the top. Wrap the bottom of that area and then slide the headlight ears to the middle to cover the seam.
Presto! Much cheaper than $250 for new fork tubes.
