Cb750f forks lowers onto k tubes?
« on: February 28, 2015, 04:14:58 PM »
Hey there, I've done some looking with no success. I'm wondering if I could fit some super sport fork lowers onto my k fork tubes in order to get better brakes. I really want to keep my stock hub because I laced up excel rims with fresh tires. ideally I would find f2 or f3 lowers so I could put dual piston calipers on but then I would imagine I would run into clearance issues and the rotors wouldn't match up. Is this possible or am I correct that the rotors and calipers wouldn't line up? I like the look of spokes and don't want to make a drastic change if I could help it. If this is a no go I'll prob get a dual setup through Godfrey. Thanks for any help

Should work for the K7/K8. I believe that the front fork pipes are identical with F2/F3. I have no clue regarding clearance though--never seen this setup.

not gonna work I'm afraid.

Better look for a GL frontend, spokes and better brakes ;)

But that is a much more dramatic change. I don't know what K-model you have in mind. Again, the F2 bottom cases should bolt right to the K7 pipes as if it was stock. You would need the F2 fender to go with it. If the K7 hub shouldn't work--of which I am not sure--you can use the F2 hub and have it laced to a rim as was shown in this forum. As a side note: front wheel F2 vs. K7 is 3.25X19 vs. 3.50X19.
Anyhow, my K7 has the "regular" dual front discs setup, and I can lock up the front wheel easily if I so desire. So it will do. No drastic changes and the easiest way to go for you. But using the F2/F3 setup is still an interesting idea although I am not to fond of the black cases

You will also need the later wheel.
i could never figure out a spoked wheel that works with the f2-3 fork.

Thanks for the replies. My bike is a 76k so I will prob spring for godfreys dual disk setup and get them drilled and thinned to save some weight
