Not sure what the extension towards the inner end is, not seeing that in the pix for a NOS one....

Dammit! I didn't look close enough on ebay. Was a cheap buy, but useless if I can't get the K1 tail light to work with it. Time to contact seller. Thanks gold dude.

Here is the other end of it, will try and see if the K1 tail light bracket will work.

Bigger question is, will the fender work with a K3 frame?

Ed,

Do you have the Old fender????
If so, measure the hole spacing and you should have your answer.
If you don't have the old fender, let us know and I can go measure the spacing of the holes on mine (K6).

I'm not sure of any difference between the early years but I know for fact that a 77-78 won't fit. I did the same thing a long time back....bought a 77 on ebay thinking it would work.

Very unlikely that it will be straight bolt on. but then again, lots of pros on the forum who likes to cut things up and make anything fit onto anything.  ;)

It was listed as 69 70 71 CB750 rear fender, so I don't think the seller has a clue.

I don't think cutting this up is going to help. I tried to mock it up with my K2 frame (that is still in my living room because I can't take it outside yet, damn snow  >:(). The fender is too wide and won't play nice, even if I did decide to  cut the length. Anyone have a K1 rear fender to trade (or sell)? Don't really care for the chrome as it will be powder coated, just looking for one without dents.

You could compare notes with someone that has a 77-78 fender off of the bike to measure. I remember the grab bar not fitting either. I sold the fender & grab bar and got a hold of the right parts. I still have the newer plastic inner fender to sell. I'll never use it because I don't care for 77-78's......69-76 K's all the way!!

I have a 750 78K rear fender on the bench. What measurement would you like to have?
Almost forgot I love my K8  ;D

Chopping isn't the issue, its the width, just too wide for the early frames. Also, the seller isn't responding like he did before the sale, might just be my first Paypal dispute  >:(

Got a refund and still have the fender, but its of no use to me. If anyone needs it, here is the FS thread, money (minus shipping) will go to the seller
