Bike stalled out... beginner
« on: January 27, 2015, 07:50:39 PM »
So last night i took my blinkers off my CB550f SS, and thought it was way to easy to make the bike look better... had to be something else i should of considered before my attack...

well, i took about a 30 mile journey, no sweat... on and off a few times all day... no prob...

then i tried to go back home... got about 25 feet and everything shut off.
headlight has no glow what so ever and so on.

now back to my blinkers... i screwed them off... literally ripped out the wire... and wrapped them in duct tape.
I'm thinking maybe an exposed wire from the missing blinkers could have been touching metal maybe? could this of drained my battery? or done some different damage?

I charged my battery on a friends charger on the side of town i was stranded for a few hours, hooked it up, didn't do anything.

got a ride home with my battery, hooked it up to my charger and it says its at 50%, which i assume is ok, maybe it charged on my friends charger, but his didn't have an indicator, maybe it wasn't dead at all and something else happened?

I recently got a new ignition switch and has been working no prob... aaaaand new bars and grips, none of which could have this affect? besides the ignition switch which has been fine for 2+ or so weeks now..

any help?

I think you have posted this in the wrong place. You will get more help if you post it here.

Have you checked your fuses? Look over all wires that you have disconnected make sure they are taped up and not touching anything. Do you have a meter and know how to use it? Repost in the link I gave above and we can get this fixed.
