kerker on a KO
« on: December 15, 2014, 09:47:25 PM »
hey guys

I am thinking about buying a kerker 4 into 1 for my '70 CB750KO. the kerker part # is KE1109 but it doesn't mention my model year. they are saying it fits a '69-'78 CB750. do you think this is accurate? anybody tried this pipe and how did it fit? are you happy with it?

thx

hey guys

purchased the kerker and it fit well and looks and sounds pretty good. question is now do I re-jet. I am hoping someone has run the similar set-up I have on my bike. its a 1970 CB750KOand I have the following set-up:

K AND N AIR CLEANER
836CC KIT INSTALLED
KERKER 4 INTO 1 PIPE
OIL COOLER

I believe the main jets are 140 and I forget what the slow jets are. anybody run such a set-up and if so what jets do you suggest?

thx a lot!

A K&N in the factory air box or individual pod filters?

Try 125 jets or 120

so I have some 120 jets from another set of carbs and I will try those. I am a little confused though, in the kerker instructions it says you will probably need to jet UP. isn't going to the 120's going DOWN? also they talk about the needles in the carbs as well, anybody know what position THEY should be in? as mentioned before:

836 kit installed
k and n filter in the original airbox, no pods
kerker 4 into 1 pipe
oil cooler, doubt this matters but just in case

kind of going for a resto mod type of thing, maintaining a stock look and as many OEM parts as possible.

thx

I had a Kerker on my K5 and also on my Kaw 1000 years ago.  It's a well made pipe with good sound.
Only thing I didn't like about the Kerker on the CB was the goofy rear mount - it attaches to the upper shock tower.
I ended up modifying the mount.

so the kerker is on the bike. heres the question. the pipe comes with 2 little brackets to be used as a stop for the centre stand from coming up to high and hitting the chain etc. they advise to use the flat bracket for the '69-'70 model which I have. I installed this bracket as per the instructions but it tends to swing out of the way with vibration and allows the stand to hit the chain???? am I missing something? anybody else use this pipe and bracket with any better luck? interested in your thoughts? next step is to completely remove the centre stand but I would prefer to keep it in place.

thx
