Typical upstate NY motorcyle storage
« on: March 13, 2015, 01:03:40 PM »
I found this on CL today, guess he doesn't know how to fix it but ,what is really amazing is that this kind of owner will leave the unwanted bike in that very spot until it becomes the new classic. Today it's worth a high of $400 to the right buyer but in 10 years or so they'll be askin $1200 for what's left after every winter has had it's way with it.

Really, how much effort does it take to cover it and ask for more later? I'm just glad it's not a 550.
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.
550 Snowbike -Somebody had to do it.

Meh, NO one will ever actually want a Hawk.
$400 is to much for a perfect one...

I live in Albany now, loving that more old stuff is "untapped"

No longer a Downstater? How do you like Albany?
I like Albany , it's not as nasty as other cities down the Hudson. Sure it has a couple dangerous areas, but the rest of the town isn't out of control.
I worked the Arbor Hill area when it was so bad the cops had to move the station out of there.
The Pastures ( S. Pearl St) was the same way. Now the only time you see police is after a shooting,  they used to be in the middle of it. So it's only that much better. You're not an Albany cop by chance?

I'm just outside of the city in guilderland.
Work in glenville.  My GF is a teacher in downtown albany, they try and say it's rough....but coming from the NYC most is just a poor imitation.

So far the area is nice.  Starting to settle in.
Way better then living in Potsdam!
Buy NY will only ever be NYC to me...lol

NYC..surrounded by desperate criminal type, downtown Albany not surrounded...But it feels the same when you hear the hammer being pulled back.  Careful.
Toward Altamont , very nice.  Up rt20 , also nice. Is the slower pace here difficult to get used to?
