Typical front shock behavior
« on: March 09, 2015, 02:16:17 pm »
Having finally taken the thing out on the road, I noticed that the front shocks are certainly bouncy.  I'm comparing them to the way the shocks were before I rebuilt them - they were like steel bars.

Should the shocks be pretty bouncy or is there something wrong in there?  They aren't leaking anything that I can see anyway.

They should come back up slower then they go down.  If not, your rebound damping action is not working.

Did you change anything, or just disassemble/clean/reassemble with fresh seals?

Just did a thorough cleaning of all the internal parts.  They were pretty grungy and the fluid smells very burned.

Didn't think the check the rebound.  I'll go do that now and report back.

follow up:  Ehh, on second thought they aren't that bad.  I bounced them a few times and they seem to be behaving themselves.
