« on: February 08, 2015, 09:32:37 AM »
Wife and I are planning a trip to Pismo Beach in March, Ive been wanting to go to the Solvang Motorcycle Museum for awhile and now are making the trip. Were going to be camping at a RV resort, I'm bring my vStrom and will be taking a few day loops the week are there, including the one to the museum.
Has anyone been to the museum?
We will be planning to visit the museum on Sunday March 8th if anyone interested.

I didn't know about this place. Will keep it in mind for a future road trip. On your way down, stop by Corbin in Hollister. They have a cool little collection of bikes.

I've been there and although it is small-seeming, once you get inside you realize there are a LOT of bikes in there, including some incredible ones.

Pick up my photos of it here:

It's been 6-7 years for me too but they had more than a few bikes then. Another place I've been is Arlen Ness in Dublin although it's mostly Harleys. I didn't have time to see them all but they had some really nice stuff.

Hey, one last word on Solvang - call ahead. They aren't open all the time, but seemed happy to come and open when we said we'd be there. Nice fella.

Anamosa, Iowa has the National Motorcycle Museum in an former WalMart building.  They had lots of Harleys, and had a section dedicated to Hondas with a Sandcast and  CBX last time I was there.

Ten years ago I was in Columbus Ohio learning to become a Mac tool dealer (another story and a mistake in my part),
I regret not going to the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Pickerington.
That's one more for the list.

There's WiFi at rv park where we're staying. Also got the GoPro on bike so maybe will be able to upload a few road travels.

if i'm not mistaken, you're staying at Flying Flags, yeah? DIRECTLY across the street and behind the old gas station / repair shop, iirc, is this UHmazing private museum.  there are some UHmazing things besides oil, gas and signage. even if they're not "open", they're likely there and <cough> open <cough>.  it's an UHmazing place full of wonderful things and stories.
