Thanks SOHC! From Olympia with Love
« on: March 17, 2015, 02:31:55 PM »
Hey all!  I am BomberMann650 - happy new owner of an original 75 CB550f Super Sport.  Found it in a barn 3 days before my birthday.  The forums here have already helped this lurker a bunch with FAQ and Links in the archive.  Wanted to show my respect, and this happy running survivor I've been able to clean up and tune up thanks to SOHC!

Thanks everybody.  So many well-kept honda's abound on this forum!  So much history and knowledge here!

I took the honda out for a little riding today.  Seems there is still some fine tuning to be done to it.  It was cold-blooded this morning and seemed to go flat at 4k and would stall out.  Once it warmed up I would still hear some sputtering in the 2-3k range.  I have a feeling the fuel mix might be inappropriate, and hopefully new and reset points/condensers will fix the sputter.
I had come across a brief trouble shooting guide for these bikes, but neglected to favorite the page.  So of course now I can't find it!

Also, the search for parts and pieces continues.  Turn signal winker and replacement side covers.  Has anyone come across a spray bomb of that pretty candy sapphire color?  People keep commenting that it's the same color as my dodge pickup.  But I'm not convinced the mopar "intense blue pearl" is the same shade or sparkle.

Any links or parts numbers appreciated!

Thanks
BM

I got new side covers from a member here, there is a long thread on them in the parts for sale section. They are a better deal then the ones from England which I also think are the ones 4into1 sells from CA. The also seem better then buying broken ones on EBay but you do have to get them painted. I also found the decals for just the tank and sifecovers without having to buy the whole set from these guys

Sweet little Super Sport.
Blue is my favorite SS colour.
Check out this thread for repo side covers.

I have a set going in for paint next week.
Excellent quality and price.
