That is a great looking bike!  Norton on a gas tank always has me looking close.

Just another 'name' out there that was sold maybe. What next an OSSA or Bultaco cafe bike ??, maybe even made in India   ;)   http://saginaw.craigslist.org/mcy/4803403724.html

I think they are in the $20k range. Small production handmade

I visited the local bike shop which have the 3 Norton Models, I must say they look much better in the flesh than in the photos.
But they are expensive in Australia the price will start at $29,000 up to $35,000 for the cafe version.

When I was in high school a family friend offered my dad and I a basket case 750 Commando, I think for free or a nominal sum (my dad has a history with Brit bikes, he rode a souped up rigid frame GoldStar in college in the early 60's). We said no thanks.

I was walking my sister's dog Saturday afternoon and stopped to talk to a neighbor. He has had what I thought was an old SOHC2 or Brit twin sitting outside of his garage for over a year. The bike turns out to be a '69 CB450. Rusted out tank (although the chrome sidecovers were in good shape) and stuck engine. He says he is going to make lawn sculplture from it.

We were chatting about bikes and he invited me into his workshop to look at his current project, a featherbed 750 Dominator cafe. It turns out he is one of the founders of the Norton club here in Chicago and he owns about 10 bikes, several Nortons and several Guzzi's.

Anyway, here is the cafe. he's been working on it for about 20 years he says, but thinks he might actually finish it finally this Spring.

Nice bike looks like he is very close to finishing the bike, lots of stuff on the lift he may have to clean up.

Thanks. I'm now in my eighth year of ownership, took me two years to get it to where you see it now. Actually those pics are around five years old, but it hasn't changed. Believe it or not, although its a bit of a show pony  it gets ridden and last year I did a tad under 3000 miles on it. I tend to drift between this and the Honda, depending how I feel (or how far I've got to go!) ;D I did change it to single carb last summer, and in the next week or two it'll be getting some modern boots - that K70 might look the part, but it's lethal!  :o
