CB750K6 exact year of manufacture
« on: March 18, 2015, 10:21:17 AM »
hi, i have a Honda CB750K6 frame number: CB7502576566  its a 1976 model year that was first registered in the UK in July 1977. According to data on this site the K6 model was manufactured from Dec 1974 to June 1976.
i am trying to determine when it was actually manufactured as it may now qualify for tax exempt status due to changes announced in the 2015 budget.
i've tried all the usual vin number search sites but they dont apply to pre 1980 bikes and the rest of the information i can find is vague on the subject, anyone know how to find out when this frame number was actually manufactured between Dec 1974 to June 1976 ?
thanks
Laurence

Isn't it stamped on the neck VIN plate?

hi, the neck vin plate was only on US bikes which did have the month/year of manufacture shown, UK bikes had a smaller vin plate on the  r/h side engine frame down tube which doesnt have the year of manufacture on it, just the frame number and weight etc.
