Oil pressure gauge? What do you guys use?
« on: March 12, 2015, 04:52:27 AM »
I'm installing an oil pressure gauge on my cb550 racer.

I want to know which brand/model you guys use?   Something pretty small in size, up to ~100psi

Thanks!

Forget that Justin, you'll have no time to watch thing anyway!  ;)

Just the answer you needed huh?

EDIT: I have an accurate hydraulic gauge I attach in place of the sending unit for initial
start-ups. You could check a hydraulic shop.

This came up on Kevin's (Blackfin) Danielle build thread, too.  What is the best method of mounting an oil pressure gauge on a 550?

Thanks Brent for the smart ass comment!!  :)

I ended up with a 1 1/2" VDO white faced gauge up to 100psi for $50.

I'm not sure if there's a "best" method per se.   I'm running my extra oil lines off the oil pump pressure switch outlet.   Hopefully this works ok.
From there I will have two T's.  One for the gauge and the other to split the line for each side of the head as Brent has done in the past on his motor.
