My girlfriend accidentally dropped her CB750A on the left side and it aggravated a repair on the AC Generator cover that looks like it was 'puttied' (not sure what material) from the last owner. You can see from the pics that there is still some putty on the inside of the cover that I have yet to remove. It was a very small leak but noticeable enough so I decided to pull all the putty off of the outside of the cover from the previous owner's repair to see how big the gash was. I assumed the AC Generator cover was just a cover that I could pull off, but I noticed that it's not really a cover but an entire unit and not something I can easily disconnect to fix myself on a workbench or bring to someone to professionally weld. I'm wondering what's the best way to go about fixing this leak? Is it important to remove the entire cover from the bike (and possibly take out the inner parts) and have a professional welder fix the gap? If so, how do I disconnect the harness. Or, should I use something like JB Weld (long setting or quick setting) to fix it myself? Any suggestions and/or experience is appreciated. I would go about doing the job with what I think is best but I'd rather ask the forum first so I can be sure I'm doing the right thing and not making a bigger issue down the road. Thanks, Chris
