jets on keihin cr29 for 750f1
« on: March 19, 2015, 08:20:50 AM »
Hi,
ive just got my hands on a set of cr29 carbs - they are jettet with 120 main.
i have read that the f1 should use 105 according to the honda manual at this page

http://www.salocal.com/sohc/tech/carb/asmpg_mgs/jetgraph.htm

i have a 4-1 exhaust

should i asume that is for the standard airfilterbox and what if i attach pods (found some 50mm ones in china for 5$ a piece)

ive been searching but havent found what i was looing for and hope that some of you can enlighten me =) again!

Don't buy cheap Chinese pods and put them on the best carbs you can buy.
That's just stupid. If you want pods get K&N and do it right.
Others can chime in on the jetting recommendations.

105 main jets are for if you have stock intake and exhaust.  You are far from that with the CR's (you didnt specify what type of 4:1 exhaust you have)
You need to match the main jets to the intake air supplied to get the correct ratio.
Your bike doesnt care what # is on the jets.  It only cares about feeding on the correct A/F ratio at all throttle positions.
FJ is right, go with K&N pods.  You might be really close with 120's.  Only your plugs or a dyno will tell....
