I was walking my sister's dog Saturday afternoon and stopped to talk to a neighbor. He has had what I thought was an old SOHC2 or Brit twin sitting outside of his garage for over a year. The bike turns out to be a '69 CB450. Rusted out tank (although the chrome sidecovers were in good shape) and stuck engine. He says he is going to make lawn sculplture from it.
We were chatting about bikes and he invited me into his workshop to look at his current project, a featherbed 750 Dominator cafe. It turns out he is one of the founders of the Norton club here in Chicago and he owns about 10 bikes, several Nortons and several Guzzi's.
Anyway, here is the cafe. he's been working on it for about 20 years he says, but thinks he might actually finish it finally this Spring.
