Motogiro BC will provide an opportunity for riders of older and smaller capacity motorcycles to show off their machines and meet with like minded individuals and old friends, whilst enjoying rides on interesting local roads. Riders will travel to locations in and around the Vernon area.
Skill testing slow speed exercises during the Saturday ride will give an added challenge. Riders will meet for dinner at the host hotel on the Saturday night. After dinner there will be a show of the motorcycles. Points will be awarded throughout the event, as noted below.
There will be space for 50 motorcycles.
Eligible Motorcycles: Any motorcycle of up to 350cc engine size, built before 1989. Machines built after 1990 will be accepted depending on space.
Motorcycles 351cc and larger, built in 1979 or before.
Motorcycles entered in Motogiro BC must be:
· Street legal, with appropriate street accessories and tyres. Turn signals, if fitted, must be operational.
· Capable of passing a pre-event inspection.
· Insured and appropriately plated.
· Mechanically capable of covering a ride distance of several hundred kilometres.
Riders must be licenced to operate the motorcycle, and physically capable of riding for several hours at a time. Extra points will be awarded to individuals wearing appropriate motorcycle-specific riding gear.
Note: Approved motorcycle safety helmets are mandatory in BC.Weather: Variable in May. Could be hot, warm, wet or dry. Assume it will be changeable, with a chance of rain.
Accommodation:The Village Green Hotel and Casino is the host for the event. When booking, mention that you are coming to take part in Motogiro BC. They will hold rooms for riders who book before May 1.

Points awarded to riders in Motogiro BC will favour older, smaller capacity machines, ridden to and during the event by safely attired riders who have a good sense of riding pace, good slow speed control of their motorcycle, who are knowledgeable about the fuel consumption of their machine, and who have a general knowledge of motorcycling. Riders should anticipate a total riding distance over the weekend of several hundred kilometres.

Proof of the ride must be provided in the form of a signed witness form for the point of departure and proof of arrival. Gas receipts must be included where gas stops were required on the ride. Local riders may ride an out-and-back or loop to accumulate distance ridden to the event.
