I was thinking about buying just the header and was wondering if anyone had used it or what your thoughts were.

Nothing but good things to say about it. I paired it with a cone engineering quiet core muffler

I have one on my bike. I love the hell out of that thing. I bought the whole system with the megaphone supplied with it. The megaphone is a Cone Engineering unit. The exhaust has a great low throaty tone, almost like a car exhaust in a way and it's louder than average pipes when you get on it. The funniest thing I've noticed with mine is that when I'm riding though neighborhoods sometimes, and this is when I'm going along slow in 2nd gear between stop signs, the exhaust note seems to set off car alarms. It's the funniest thing because it's not that loud, I almost feel like it's the frequency of the note or something. The only thing I added was a small mounting strap for the rear section that utilizes the clamp bolt for the megaphone. That way I could attach it to the frame for support back there.

Here's how it looks on a bike.

To me, that's one of the nicest (balance) aftermarket exhausts available.
Sure a lots better looking than the crop of unoriginal Yosh knock offs everyone's grabbing these days.
Please make a quality system like this for the 550's, Cycle-X.
I'll take one!

Jim, you must have never seen the street version of the "original Yoshi",  almost identical to what's currently on the market, I had one on my 900 Boldor Honda, there were at least 4 different versions i've seen... ;)

Ya, you're probably right Mick. I just came on the CB scene in 2007 so my historical references are a bit weak. Have you got any pics?

Cheers
