Clutch slipping
« on: March 30, 2015, 01:11:25 AM »
I recently rebuild my engine and at that time I measured the clutch plates and they where within limits. In general the clutch works fine, but sometimes when I accelerate hard and shift from 1st into 2nd gear I experience that when the clutch I released the engine stays at full rev like the clutch is slipping. Is this due to a worn clutch or could it be an adjustment issue? I was also thinking if it could have something to do with the engine oil?

Clutch slip occurs when there is insufficient friction to resist the force ??? or is that Star Wars 8)

Can be an adjustment if the clutch is not being allowed to fully clamp plates ie too tight with no free clearance, best to check at clutch end.

Oils can affect as well so best to use one designed for wet clutch motorcycles.

Springs are another factor and should be checked to make sure they are within limits .
