Connecting Rod nuts/bolts - tips for removing
« on: March 30, 2015, 09:15:11 PM »
I need to remove my connecting rods from my crankshaft. Nuts appears to be 12mm.
Do I need a very thin wall socket or ?

How have you all gone about releasing these nuts?

Thanks,
Andy

Easiest would be to grab a cheap 12mm socket and grind the edge, fits and works well.

Haha. That makes sense. I have alerady eaten through another couple sockets that have been "customized" for specific purposes on this rebuild. What is a third. :)

Thanks
