Nomination for Bike of the Month - May 2015
« on: March 31, 2015, 10:43:25 PM »
I would like to start things off by nominating Davez134's gorgeous blue CB750K2

She may have a leak to contend with as Dave gives her a shakedown, but she's a runner.

Nice that we are back to bikes built by forum members with build threads.

I didn't realize this had become such a problem lately.
Sure wouldn't want no stinking bikes winning BOTM that didn't deserve to be recognized for what they are?

No problem, Marcel.  Congratulations on the well-deserved nomination.  I will post a voting thread on April 16th.  If you can post a summary of your build on that thread, it would be a great way for members to hear what you started off with, what work you put in to the bike and some finished product pictures.

By the way, the gauges you restore are fantastic!

Good luck with the voting later this month!

Thanks for the nominations, guys!  To have my bike in the running against LeCram's and Davez's is an honor.  I'll accept.

Eydugstr,

Do you happen to have a build thread or at least some information about the bike (year, etc.), condition when acquired, and work performed to get you to the present?

Yes, I do have an older build thread but haven't updated it in awhile - http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=86053.msg998176#msg998176.  The bike did participate in the first Godzilla relay.

The bike is a '72 CB750K2 with a '77 K7 front end and electrics, and a mixture of other years with a few aftermarket pieces (aka the "Frankenhonda").

This is what the bike looks like now
