My gs-11 front had 41psi cold stamped on it

My Avon states 42 max cold.

Go read your tires, guys!

Now these are max pressures for heavy loads, high speeds and aggressive riding.

If you are a small guy that rides slow, 32 should be fine.

That just means you *can* run up to 41 PSI, not that you should. ;)
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

I ride fast, but since I only weigh 9.5stone (133pounds or ~65kg), I'll probably never need to use the maximum allowable pressure :)

Yikes Retro!

Steering bearings seem in good shape - smooth, no freakiness, I need to check the front wheel bearings - no time this weekend.  No cupping or uneven wear on the tire.

The "notchiness" is sometimes not evident till you remove brake, clutch, choke cables and wiring harness from the equation.

I'm in the process of installing the all balls in my K8 now, and couldn't detect any notch with the front wheel jacked up. But since I already had the set, and needed a new front tire, I decided to go ahead and install them anyway at the same time.

After removing the cables, harness and fork tubes, etc, the bare trees would home into the notch at the straight ahead position and take quite a bit of effort to get out of that position.

The races confirmed the notch @ center.

Why would today's tires require more pressure? Anything over 32 pounds in my front tire and I can feel the paint on the road at crosswalks. ;)
maybe its cuz most of us are old fat asses...you are slight of build im thinkin and isnt your 750 shaved down around 400lbs?  I run about 36 front 38 rear, anything less than 32 and I notice lots of squirm and premature tire wear and cupping
If it works good, it looks good...

I'm same as seanbarney41 - 36/38. No real logic to it except I think my stock was 26/28 and I upped 10psi for newer tire compounds, etc. Sometimes I'll do 35 in both. Never really notice a huge difference either way. I run Metzeler Lasertecs and I always check pre-ride if it's been more than a few days.
