Yes.  Double nut.  Counter clock wise.
Just know these can bend easily and are not readily available.  Yamiya has them though.

Flange nuts work best, if you have them. ;)

A bent one came with my current build.
Every few days i searched the part number on ebay.
After a month or so, one came up.  I think I paid $20 for it.

M6 right handed
The base thread (into the crank) IIRC, is M8 RH

I'll be removing both of mine today, was just about to ask the same question. I had the cranks micropolished but made the mistake of leaving these in place. The good for nothing machine shop jerks bent them irreparably  >:(

I took mine off to make sure it was not getting sticky. It was sticky so I used some hi temp lube on it. I was in a hurry so I had the 3-4 side and 1-4 side reversed. Easy to diagnose since she does not want to run and farts back through the carb.

I hope the advancer shafts are available somewhere, because I stripped the M6 threads off using the double nut method.

I've buggered them up before using the double nut method. Nowadays I hold them lower down with vise grips, with a thin strip of ally to protect the shaft.

Is there a torque spec for tightening this shaft? Or just snug with the double nutting?

A stud puller makes quick work of removing the ignition shaft without the risk of bending like double nutting.

New replacement shafts are available through C5 ignitions.
