Back on subject
. I located this one in a private collection in Georgia. I believe that it was bought by the current owner around 2007. It is said to be one of the three "Dragstars" built and sold ready to race by RC Engineering for the 1973 season. It reportedly held several national records that year. RC Engineering also sold these bikes as individual components right through unassembled kit form with everything needed. So although the frame, and major parts appear authentic(an may very well be) it MAY not actually be the bike he thinks it is. I am hopefully going to be able, with some help, track down the history of this bike and confirm which one it is.
Options are:
1-The Steakley brothers bike out of Texas: RC drove the bike himself to a few US national records
2-The Adams bike out of Alberta Canada: again RC drove it himself to a few Canadian national records.
3-The Buzzsaw: an in house RC Engineering campaigned bike.
4-A double dragster assembled from a whole or partial RC "Dragstar" kit.
5-A double dragster assembled from a chassis bought directly from Ralph Muldoon(he made the early catalog chassis for RC) and built an non RC component bike closely modeled after the RC Dragstar doubles.
Stampings on the chassis neck and the cases/cylinders/heads would help narrow the possibilities.
Anyway, it's an awesome looking bike and looks nice on hardwood floors in a climate controlled environment.
