Working on 81 CB900C
« on: April 07, 2015, 08:06:57 AM »
Hello Everyone
I am new to this site and I have only had my bike a few months now and when I got it the clutch was slipping. Now I have the new clutch in but I cant find torque specs for the springs anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Also Should I use anything on the new gasket for the clutch cover or just put it on dry.
Thanks J R

Can't  help you with torque specs. Gasket should go on dry though.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

Most likely 6-8 ft.lbs if they are 6mm bolts

Thanks for the info!!! I'm pretty sure the bolts are 8mm but ill have to double check once I get home. Would that mean that they need a little more torque

Not specific to that bike, but here are Honda's general torque specs

The thread size is 8mm?   If so, 14-16 would be in order.   Most clutch spring retainers on Hondas are 6mm thread

Thanks MoMo and Tugboat for all of your help. You are right MoMo the bolts are 6mm. So I'm going to give it a try within the next few days (if work will allow) and let you know how it goes.
Thanks again
