Exhaust Flange Width

I ordered up a set of exhaust flanges for the bike, but they appear to be too wide. I ordered CB550 flanges, assuming they'd fit on the CB500. Are there different sizes for different years?

Not sure. They measure 2.25" hole to hole, about .25" too wide for the studs. What are they supposed to measure?
