dream last night....seriously.
« on: October 16, 2006, 06:10:15 AM »
so i was reading a "brakes thread" in the tech section and it made me remember a dream from last night.  i was cruising around and grabbed the front brakes and the lever came off in my hand as well as a bunch of cables....made no sense as it's a disk up there, but still, eventually i was cruising around, trying to stop, with all the parts to set up drum brakes in my left arm and trying to control the bike with my right.  weird.  sometimes i get these dreams though, where my bike is falling to pieces--mostly i'm riding it at the time--and i'm struggling just to hang onto parts.

always a relief when i wake up though.

Maybe you should stop drinking a few hours before you go to bed, that might help put an end to the dreams  :-\ ;D

Here is my attempt at analyzing your dream. Riding is a metaphor for life. And braking can represent you trying to get control of things. Unfortunately most of the things that happen in life are beyond our control. Your dream may be a subconscious realization of that.

not bad analyzing there.

i'd like to "stop" but i can't so just hang on and try to keep it together.

That's pretty much what we all do... It's all about handle it. I prefer the quiet, non-emotional way. Which reminds me, I need to change my fork oil when I get a chance.

well, my office mate suggested that there is absolutely no symbolism in this dream; she feels that my bike may, at any moment, just fall to pieces and i'll be running down the highway gripping a set of handlebars.... she's not so understanding of the classics as we are.

another one, from friday after getting the project i've been working on released.... i was in a meeting giving a demo of the software to the clients and one of our QA guys--with whom i've been working far too much over the last couple of weeks--kept spray painting my monitor.

Until you mentioned your dream, I had forgotten all about one I had a few weeks ago, where I wasn't able to pull the clutch in, mo matter how hard I tried. Even two-handed didn't work.  It's kinda like trying to run in a dream, where you just can't get the legs to work.  very frustrating    ::)

Tell us about the relationship you have with your mother.

she rides a bike with twice the displacement as mine, and for all intents and purposes, zero maintenance.

I just remembered a bike  dream I had a few months ago...it wasn't about my bike, but I was riding a friends Shadow ACE, which I had just ridden recently...Note: I didn't feel in control when I rode it.
In the dream, i "Borrowed" the bike and took off...I started out on neighborhood streets, but then the road got narrower and narrower, until  it became a dirt path....it turned a corner to the right, where it came out at the top of a sand dune...because of the slope and the sand (steep slope on my left) I couldn't get off the bike or back up...because of the sand and sand grass, I had no traction. My first thought was to call my friend Jeff to come and "Save" me, but I had just taken off on his bike! Then I woke up...wierd dream!

Holy Crap! But then Cheapo probably doesn't have wierd dreams. Dreams help us resolve inner conflicts. From his legend, he resolves inner conflicts while he's awake (think: Smack crotch rocket guy  in head while pushing bare leg into muffler!).
Cheapo's my hero...he does things we only dream about!

"I had a dream" - Martin Luther King

seriously  - you all need help (me too probably)

I'm wearing pants- do not dream often - have not got a mother who rides a bigger bike - my brakes and clutch work fine - I eat cheese before bed - and have the odd drink just before I hit the fart sack. - Am I normal or do I need analysis - hopefully not from you bunch of  - I don't know what to call you all - miscreants is too nice.... :)

I had a drean a few nights ago that the handbar under the throttle wore away and it broke off while I was riding.  I do't know how I kept on riding but at the time I was sure it was my kids fault it broke.   Had another dream I had to cross a bridge on the side rail just to jump off the end and t-bone a Ford Tauras???  I think Abe Lincoln was driving the Ford, does that count.
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

Had the same dream last night and it was Abe and he was naked. Hung like the horse he rode in on.

No drinking and reading my posts before you sleep might fix a few things. Raul did say they call me when the Boogie Man wont go to bed  ;D

AS long as he did not have a jump rope with a beaver helping him swing it waiting for ya you are ok. I think  ???
