My first build
« on: April 09, 2015, 04:35:16 AM »
It is a 1974 750 with an Amen Savior frame.  I tore it down and just got it back with a 1976 750A motor and an 84-85 VF500 Magna rear wheel installed.  I also have a springer front en and a 17” narrow spoke wheel to install later. I am really looking forward to having it completed.  But first I need to work on the house before I can play with the bike.  ]

That's a good looking bike.  Would love to see it when done.  It looks like it's really gonna rock!

Very cool.  That springer is very shiny!

Is that another Amen frame I see lurking in the background?

Yes it was, past tense.  It was a partial trade for the motor and the work involved to overhaul the carbs, adjust the valves, and to install it in my frame.  I traded an inexpensive 9mm pistol for the springer, wheel, and a king/queen seat.  Seat is also history.

Here is a shot of some other things I temporarily installed along with a picture of my engine serial number.

Click on the image and you can see my 1967 Triumph Chopper I owned a few years back.

Also, wondering what kind of bars you're thinking of running.  Apes are common but I also like the looks of broomstick bars on some tall-ish risers.

Thanks for fixing that for me!  I like something I can sort of lean back with.  I don't like my arms stretched out.  I have been looking at some, but want one of my sons to measure it out while I sit on the bike.  I want an internal throttle for a clean handlebar.  My funds are a little low at the moment.  When we sell our house, Lord willing, I get my $9,000.00 back, from sale of my 1993 Goldwing Trike, and I can get what parts I want.  I may just polish and blast for now to get her ready for the paint.  I have a friend from church who paints trucks for a living and he will paint the bike free and the paint will be free too!  I love good friends. I plan on "Antique white pearl".  Then I will have to get the airbrush work done.  Since the frame is an Amen Savior I want that theme.  I want either Jesus with the crown of thorns on the tank or just the crown of thorns.  I also want thorns on the edges of the the fender.

I found the name of the bars I think I want.  They call them "rabbit ears".  I don't want them to close together, but I think a separation of about 12 to 14 inches at the grips would work well.  I just got my chrome exhaust header clamps from Lowriders By Summers.  Good quality at a great price.  Great guy to talk with.
