Guy is asking $600, are the parts worth it? Based off picture. Says its a 1971 Honda cb500 four with race parts.

The wheels (Lesters?) might have be worth it, but everything looks too far gone to me.

anyone running upside down handlebars is not a real racer IMHO. The magneto might be worth something as well as the wheels. Pretty massive looking fork brace on it. As mentioned the wheels "might" bring the asking price but everything else is pretty weathered. I wouldn't give him $600, maybe $300-$400

Rear wheel looks like a Morris, front wheel looks like a Lester. The magneto drive doesn't look familiar to me..

From the look of the radius of those headers, looks similar to a hand bent yosh pipe.

To answer your question yes, there are some rare parts on that bike.

The front wheel looks like a Morris, too. I think it's just the angle of the pic.
At first glance, I thought "No....not worth it", but I'd be tempted to grab it. Lots of neat stuff on it.

Looks like sea world is full of 500/550 projects.

SO I figure that distributor would fit in one of those $15 flat rate boxes.....
Really want a funky ignition for my Chopper.
Been collecting ARD parts. But think it would be better to just have a whole unit from a 550/500

tx obviously has dibs on this but if he doesnt pick it up and you really want that dist, I might be able to help out. It's about an hour and a half from me.

Yeah TX defiantly has dibs.

Front end looks okay on the bike.
Wheels would need to be checked out for corrosion/cracks.
Rear disk set up is nice to find complete. Looks like it was made with good parts.
Rearsets are interesting.
Looks like stock carbs, but with that ignition I would assume that there are some go fast bits internally.
Pipe is extra cool.
Unsure what brand of shocks those are. Not stock.

All and all there are some very interesting parts. Worth the price of admission for sure.
Could be parted out for more then $600 without question. Or use the parts with a cleaner donor and have a killer street racer.

Was thinking about picking it up and selling off the parts but I think it just might too far gone and won't make enough on it. Especially at $600

Parts are worth over $600 but you have to take into account your time to part it out.

While I hope someone does part it (as I want some parts) I will say that parting bikes is a pain in the butt.
You need to tie up the cash, then tie up a lot of space to get things taken apart. Listings take time and there are always people that drive you nuts. Then after it is all done you are stuck with half an engine and a frame.....you feel bad tossing them...

There is a buyer for the wheels at the $600 asking price. Pipe is worth a couple of hundred.
No question there is money to be made. Just a matter of it being worth your time.

Are you guys seeing more than one pic? Cuz I can't see enough of the front wheel to see what it is.
I think the ignition is a "Name escapes Me " same as I bought from Bill Benton on here...it's a distributor, name will come to me....soon..
