A few more things.

The bowl screws are probably worn out. Get yourself a replacement pack. Just plan on replacing all of them.

You’ll also want to have all the replacement gaskets and orings on hand. Check the brass jets. They probably don’t need to be replaced. Just gentle (really, gentle) cleaning.

Lastly by the time it was over, I did thread repair inserts on all the bowl screws. Several were bad before I touched it. And the rest were weak. Inspect your carbs for this. If you have any bad threads, it’s nice to have the repair tools already on hand. I got a nice little kit off Amazon (I attached pics. Hope they show up when I post). M4 .7 pitch are what you need.

Good luck

Hello everyone and thank you very much Futility for these awesone post

I have disassembled my PD42A carbs and when i was triying to assembling them I have noticed that the two nylon spacers on the number 2 are missing (maybe lost by the previous owner) I cannot find a replacement for these parts so the solution is to make a new one myself but I do not know the thickness of these pieces. Maybe someone who is reading this post has the carbs removed and can give me that information?

Hello everyone and thank you very much Futility for these awesone post

Welcome aboard kawasi
I don't know thePD42A carbs as i have earlier K bike carbs, nor have a set of PD42A  to check the size for you. I did look on the parts fiche to see if Honda had them listed but the spacers are not even on the pictures.

I do suggest you start a new topic in the wanted section of the forum as well as here in the SOHC bikes but not tagged on an old post to get more attention.(this thread was started in 2015) It might catch attention here in this thread on the carbs but be patient.

I know this thread is old, but hoping to engage.

I have the same carbs and would love see the picture, they seem to be not linked anymore.  Is there a PDF of this thread somewhere or am I doing something wrong?

Beautiful write up on the carbs. Wondering where you bought the the socket head screws for the choke plates? I'm in the process of a rebuild and the ones there are pretty badly stripped, the socket head seem like a better option.
